The Winfield isn’t just a name — it’s a legacy. Owned and operated by the Wells family, we’ve been serving the Franklin County and Smith Mountain Lake area for over 30 years. Our goal has always been simple: build homes that people love, and take care of the people who live in them.

Our Story - A trusted name for over 36 years.

It all started in 1989, when the Wells family — deeply rooted in Franklin County — began developing what would become the first Winfield community. With backgrounds in construction and a strong sense of neighborly care, Tom and Robert Wells set out to create something different: homes that offered space, simplicity, and real long-term value.

Since then, we’ve grown into two welcoming rental communities — Westlake and Glade Hill — where active individuals and retirees can enjoy peace of mind without giving up quality or independence.

Whether you’re local or coming from out of state, our promise is the same: we’ll treat you with respect, maintain your home with care, and offer you a rental experience that feels like home.
